For more than 7 years, Alvaro Ybarra Zavala has documented the turbulent times of the Bolivarian Revolution in Venezuela. This project made up the cover of Time Magazine in August 22, 2016 issue, an instant success that has since become a classic.
Venezuela lives on the verge of collapse. After 18 years of revolutionary government the country is today a failed state. The promises of the Chavista movement to achieve a more just and egalitarian society are part of the past. To this day, Venezuela is a country in which the separation of powers has been broken and civil society is the victim of a constant violation of their fundamental rights.
